Can someone help me identify what these knots that are forming on my naso tang? It originally had ich after i first introduced it into my tank about 2 weeks ago. The ich spots were on the body. All the spots on the body have cleared up. But now I see some knots forming on the head that seem to form an eyebrow. Some parts of it are slightly white, so I didn't know if it was still ich and am continuing with my treatment. Or could it be some other type of infection? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Long

It's Lymphocytis. It reminds me of the chicken pox. Its an auto-immune disorder. There isn't anything you can do for it other than keep the water clean and feed a good diet. It will run its course and clear up on its own. I was told by Bob Fenner that its not contagious to your other fish. I found an article on saltwater aquarium that says it is and to isolate. Saltwater Fish Diseases and Treatments IMO, isolation would cause further stress and I wouldn't do it. I never had any problems with transmittal when mine had it. Since its viral, there isn't any medication to treat it. It cleared up on my Naso on its own in a few months. It was progressive and got worse before it got better but was mainly along his lateral lines. I think mine was caused from the stress of shipping. Yours could have been caused from the stress of ich. Just keep stress low and you should be fine.
