Just was curious if anyone has any of these. I just bought 100 of them for $18.00 including shipping.

Well I have had about 50 of them in my various tanks now for about 6 months now, but just curious what others thought of them, I dont think they eat anything off the glass although they like to climb it. Most of the time they stay under the sand with their little whatchamacallit sticking out waiting for food.

I was going to try them a while back but after doing some research on them on reefcentral etc I decided to not buy them. Everything I read said that they cannot tolerate the higher temperatures that we keep our tanks at etc. They also said they like to crawl out of the tanks. Most said they live well for a few months then slowly start to disappear. I also read that they will attack other small animals.

Good Luck.

Well I have had mine for a while and never had any problems. I did catch one in my sump a few days ago. I believe the person I am getting them from is catching them from the Carolinas so your probably right about the water temp. Since they are so cheap I thought might as well get them.

Yeah Aggie, thats what I recall.. There was a thread stating that the snails obsoletta on ebay, wouldnt live, and it was because of the temp...

If you want to do some reading about the snails do a google search or search on reefcentral for Ilyanassa obsoleta. I even read that this snail is a host for a flatworm that is responsible for swimmer's itch :)
