My conch has gunk on it. Can I scrub it clean, or will that make it angry? :-x

I've done it before. I'm not sure if it makes him angry or not, but either way I'm sure he's over it by now.

I picked up a conch at Aquatic Center last week.
It sure tears up hair algae!

update
Scrubbed the conch with an old toothbrush until he was clean as new. he didn't seem to mind at all, as he was out eating and cruising around immediately afterward. He may even have thought it was a massage.
