I just bought my first house and I finally have the space to do the 300 gallon tank I have always wanted. I need help figuring out where to get my tank built. I know i want the dimensions to be 72x36x27 with a coast to coast external overflow. Any input or ideas on would be much appreciated.

I just had a tank done by Planet Aquariums. Ordered through Oceanlife. I'm very happy with it.

You definitely need to go see Nick at Oceanlife. He'll help you get the best quote from planet aquariums or another builder like DSA. I've been in talks with him on upgrading to a 72x27x27 but I'm having issues deciding if I want to go acrylic and also deciding what type of overflow I want to go with. I definitely want to go external because I want the real estate in the tank. Anyways, he told me that it would take about 4 weeks to get the tank in I just need to make the decision.

I would go with Nick at Oceanlife as well. They are all great to work with, and have been a big help in getting my 190 up and running, and now slowly stocking it.
Whatever brand you buy make sure to discuss warranty just in case. My friend bought 300DD set up for his cichlids and after 4 months tank started leaking. I know that's not common but it could happen to any of us. GL>
