Hey folks, I just bought a 75 gpd RO/DI unit from Buckeye and have no real idea of how to hook it up. Can someone please tell me where I can find the proper equipment to hook it up to my faucet and also what the valved line on the top of the DI resin is for. Thanks.

What type of faucet are you trying to hook up to? A sink type faucet or a hose faucet? I do not know what Russ supplies with his units if anything to hook up to a supply line or faucet. If you are trying to hook up to a sink faucet you would need some adapters. Same goes for connecting to a hose faucet, you need an adapter. The adapters for a hose faucet I believe are available from Home Depot, Lowes or a hardware store. I don't know if they would have adapters for connecting to a sink faucet.

As for the valve on top of the unit, that sounds like the bypass/flush valve for flushing your RO membrane. If you have specific questions you can always e-mail Russ at Buckeye and he will get back to you quickly with answers to your questions.

go to ace home depot stinks. But I agree with Leslea the directions need pictures it's too confusing the first time you hook up a RO/DI unit.

Someone used to make a diverter valve/aerator for sink faucets that had a 1/4" hose or tubing nipple on the side for connection to a sink top water filter. I am going to take a wild guess that you won't find that around anywhere. What you will probably have to do is try to get an aerator adapter that goes from your faucet size thread (yes there are different size adapter threads, male as well as female) to a hose thread, then use a hose thread to 1/4" tubing adapter onto that. Hope this helps some.

Aggie - soory I couldn't make the call happen yesterday.

The valve is for access to RO water. You can use this for instance to fill up a jug of drinking water.

You are better off hooking the system into your plumbing beneath the sink or elsewhare, rather than at the faucet.

What sort of plumbing do you see where you'd like to hook it up? 1/2" copper? 3/8" copper or plastic? A garden hose bib?

Do you want to solder in a new fitting to your plumbing or ar you looking for a less involved DIY alternative?
