I set up a 35 gallon biocube predator tank for my son. However, I am having algae problems. What is strange is a black algae on the bottom of the tank. Yesterday during the water change I picked up some of the pieces. Does anyone know what type of algae or fungus it is? I am posting a picture.

Looks like cyano to me.
That is my guess. Looks like Cyano. Chemiclean will nuke that easy.

Cyano. You can just siphon it out. It will probably take a while for it to be gone. You can attack it chemically if you find you can't get rid of it naturally.
