Never been confident about my light levels. My rbta began to do this. Does that mean I need more light?

How much and what kind of light do you have? How deep is the nem from the surface? How long have you had him?

Could be a light issue, but that trumpet seems to be doing ok. Do you feed the nem?

I have an AI sol. It sits about 9" below the surface. I've had it for about a month now.

I target feed every two weeks. It usually picks up a little bit when regular feed.

I tried to have my lights below the surface and it falied to even power up. You have pretty good lighting if it works like that.

HaHa. I asked him how far his nem was below the surface. I think that is what he meant my 9". At least I hope so. I have about 15 rbta's and based on yours reaching up like that, he may be trying to get more light. You could either try moving him closer or move your lighting a little closer. I wouldn't go any closer than 8" above the surface. If you can increase the intensity, try that.

Also regarding feeding, I feed mine a small piece of shrimp or silversides about the size of my thumb nail 2x per week. I don't think once every two weeks is enough.

Yeah I think you got mixed up with your words there bud. Nem is 9" bellow surface. Light is maybe a foot and a little bit above. I'm waiting to buy a proper hanging system when I move into what will be my permanent residence in college station. I can lower the light no problem. I have the light set to white 13%, blue 12%, royal 13%. So I can increase the intensity a lot! Denis had this light over his cube (the second tank on the left) and had the intensity at about 15%, if I remember correctly. Mine tank being smaller I went just shy of that number.

If have your light running that low, I would just up it by 5% and see how it responds. No need to move it closer. You can slowly increase it over a few weeks. Don't go too fast or you can shock your other corals.

It sits in the middle of the tank right under the 40. I up the intensity a little bit so we will have to see how things go.
