Hey Guys. One of my ricordias let go of itself from a rock it was on and is now free. I dont want him flying around my tank. What is the best method to getting him back on a rock without having to use fabric from a wedding vail? Can I use super glue, then attach him quickly to a rock like you do zoas? thanks!

On mine, I put them in a small glass bowl with sand on the bottom of the tank and let them attach and then glue them

Yhea- if you have a small plastic bowl or glass bowl, put some sand in it and let them stay there till they attach to the sand then you can glue them with no problems

Or you could run a stitch through them and tie them off wherever you want and you dont have to wait like you do with the brilliant bowl idea.Once they attach cut off the thread.A needle doesnt hurt them at all.

k, i need some advice myself. My rics are shrinkin up. But sometimes they're full again, does that mean they're color morphing?

Andy,

mine usually shrink up at night.. then they take a while for them to fill up after the lights come on. They also shrink when touched. When there is low flow, they fill up even more and extend themselves out.

If you think its a health problem, try dosing some iodine (not much).

k, i'll put some iodine in the tank. We had been steering away from mineral supplimentation and wanted to just do waterchanges. But i'll go ahead and put in a couple drops of lugols and see if they get bigger again.

be careful with lugols. its very strong. make sure you dose half the amount recommended just in case the first time. also dose at the last chamber of your sump as it will cause it to spread around instead of just one area. you mentioned getting zeovit.. if you did, then you can also use the potassiumiodide fluoride. lugols has potassium iodide as well. give it two days to see results.

I've dosed lugol's multiple times in the past, we just stopped recently to see if we could go w/ just water changes to bring the levels up. It's obviously not working.

I use 7 drops to dose my tank at a time and put it in the exit pipe from my refugium so it can mix as the water tumbles down the pipes.
