I have a 135 gallon tank that I need to move around to replace my tile floor and I could use some suggestions. I plan to empty the tank of water, rock and fish but I really don't want to get into disconnecting all of the plumbing from the sump to the tank. Ideally I would like to place the stand/tank on something that would make it easy to move around but not sure that is practicle. I might be able to slide that tank and stand on the floor when it's empty but that wont be easy and I really dont want to try and slide the tank back into position after the floor is replaced.

Any suggestions???

im in kind of the same scenario, need to replace the cheap wood floor due to Ike.

i can only think of buying a a couple of 50 gal brute cans or rubbermaid tubs of larger size to move all the water. i would definately have seperate container for any sand since its unknown what can happen if disturbed.

if your plumbing is good and solid, you should have no trouble, if its flxible hoses even less trouble. i would definately recommend disconnecting anything to the glass tank, its just too risky. even if you can move the tank safely, anyone or thing can bump that pipe or bulkhead and you wont see the leak or damage until you do a water leak test before adding anything back into the tank.

This is a pic of "Saltwatersilly's" 150g before she sold it:

Notice the flat furniture dollies underneath it. Put the rocks and water in drums or other containers and sit the tank on something like she used.
