Not sure where to put this...

It's a sad day..

My wife got confirmation from the pediatrician that my daughter has developed a severe allergy to dogs. This has been a long road and tough decision to come to but I need to find Cooper, my dog a good home. He's a mini-rat terrier (11 pounds) with the happiest disposition I have ever seen. I have had him since he was a puppy (Apr 2017). He's got a ton of energy, very smart and eager to please. Comfortable with younger kids, cats, and other dogs (we lost our other dog of 15 years last year) oh and chickens. I'd much prefer he go to a good loving home to someone on here that will love him instead of taking him to CAP or another shelter so if anyone is interested or knows someone who would be able to give my little buddy a loving home I would be ever grateful.

Good luck brother, gotta be a hard thing to do. I was allergic to cats when my wife had them when we were dating. Took me 3 years for my body to adjust and get used to the allergies... now I'm not allergic, well atleast not so sensitive. That house was full of dander. I have 2 teacup maltease, a schnoodle and 2 sugar gliders and have no more pet allergies. I had it bad too, whole face would swell up and tears....

Kinda like peanut allergies.... they're now slowly introducing peanuts to build immunity to those that are allergic... what I always said should be done from day 1...

Thanks Rick.

Odd thing is she never used to be allergic to dogs. Only in the past 6 months this has crept up and now can't be around any dog without going full tilt allergic reaction. Tried OTC and script allergy meds and they barely help. I have tried keeping him bathed and washing his bedding to no avail. So poor thing stays in her room all the time with the door shut since he's too little and thin coated to leave outside all the time when it's cold.

Covid... would not doubt it... moderna...(mrna) can change the DNA structure.... they've been talking about it for over a decade now.

I feel for on this one. A few years ago out of the blue I became allergic to most shellfish and peanuts. No rhyme or reason.

Unfortunately, according to my allergist, the pet dander is pretty much going to be there for another 6 months. He said that's how long it takes the protein on the dander to break down, or something like that. I just remember the 6 month window because I have an indoor/outdoor cat (which doesn't bother me so long as I don't touch her then touch my face) and I decided to just fight through it.

Just read your post. Just to let you know that some dogs are more allergic than others. If you are considering getting another dog to replace that one. I have a Cockapoo and they are hypoalergenic.
