Hi gang,

Looking for some advice ...today is the last day for the 10% discount for the Apex. I've still been debating on whether or not I need to get one. If I don't do it tonight then I won't bother again until next year. I'm currently using a Seneye to monitor NH3 and PH and temp. I have most of my equipment on Echo switches so I can schedule and use voice. I'm not dosing yet but dosers are cheap and I can set those up the same way.

Am I missing something? Do I really need to suck it up and buy one of these bad boys?

Foggy

Well, it depends on what you’re wanting to accomplish with it. It looks like you have a good amount of automation going on, so you’re not going to gain much in that department. The perks to having probes and what not hooked up to an apex is that it can control equipment based off of the readings it gets. THTe down side to one controller, versus the multiple different ones you have now, is that it only takes one piece to fail to bring down a lot of systems. With multiple controllers, you don’t have that issue.

Ultimately, I think the full potential and value of the apex is realized once you partner it with a trident. That’s a game changer there. Not cheap though.

All the cool kids got one! But really just for safety sake it’s not a bad idea.. it shuts off stuff in emergencies, you can monitor your tank from anywhere, notifies you when there is a leak or unusual power consumption... if you can afford it then go for it!

Also stores like fjw will honor that brs price so you might consider that as well.

Great advice all...thanks! I wish I had thought about an LFS honoring the price....would much rather have shopped local than give my money to the big guys. One in the cart.
