I finally took a jump into the salt world. i know, should go bigger, but i got a 10 gallon petco special with homemade weir and 10 gallon sump. it has total voulume of 17 gallons, and 18 lbs of rock and 20 lbs of sand. Been lurking around many reef places and fourms learning as much as possible. i got my sump quite except for my weir overflow. But no gurgling or splashing from sump. thanks to my reverse durso drain.

i have just finished the cycle and planning on adding the following

just got some chateo with hitchikers for free from cliner

Livestock
Reef cleaners cuc
one Clown Fish
one cleaner shrimp
Wife wants some star fish?

Coral
pulsing xenia
Green star polyops
Zoos
maybe something else im sure

lighting right now is two ten watt cfl 6500k
but planning on doing 14 led

flow right now comes from my sump return at 150gph, planning on getting a powerhead for it

Any comments?

Any one else from Liberty/Anahuac area?

how do i post pics?

Good start and good choices for stocking. A nano can be easy to care for and very rewarding with a little weekly elbow grease. Water changes are a very big part of maintaining a nano tank so don't slack on that and you should be fine. Looks like maybe a filter sock in the sump ... if so, make sure to change it out regularly.

Its no filter sock, its where my drain goes in, i guess the water rushes down so fast that it makes micro bubbles, so i stuck my reverse dorso drain into a 4 in pvc with holes at the bottom. The bubbles stay inside the pipe. But i do have some filter floss stuffed in the bubble trap, i clean it every two days.

I love your set up!!! BTW, can you post a picture of your home made weir? I am very interested in seeing what you have.
Just a couple of things. I would hold off on the corals until you get some more powerful lights. Also, where did you get the live rock? It looks bleached. And again, very nice set up.
