I got the acid from lowes. You should be able to pick it up at any hardware store or pool company. After you neutralize the acid with baking soda you need to dilute it with lots of water and it can then go down any drain or on your yard. I plan on doing the acid bath in the morning. Wish me luck.

can you post a link to the process or your steps you are going to take, do you use the baking soda during the process or just to dump the acid afterwords?

Little update:

Starting on changing stain color of stand. One coat looks good. Going to try two coats after this one dries to better match my offoce color.

Removed both over flows today. Thought they were going to be tough but they came out really easy with a rotozip. I am going to remove the 2 plastic cross braces and install either stainless cross braces or put in glass. Would like opinions on next move. Stainless or glass.

Talk to Mike13oy about the stainless that his brother makes. It will give you the most accessibility, unlike the glass ones, not to mention better lighting and also less chance of fish getting stuck out of water.

Picture of brace that Mike13oy's brother built for me. If anyone needs a brace this thing is built right.

Rock coming along nicely. Cycled in about 3 weeks. Glad I bleached and acid washed it. Dont have to worry about any pests.

Wow, lucky to have a wife involved in the hobby. Mine mearly puts up with it. I had to "re-stain" my stand to three different colors to her liking to get it into the house. That bracing looks sweet. Everything is looking great, new tank setups are my favorite. Making me want to set another up

How was the turkey? :burger:
