I love my 14000 bulb. A little more blue than the 12500, but not near as blue as a 20000k. Just my opinion. I hate the intense blue of a 20000k bulb though.

I'm running a 14k Phoenix bulb with 2x18w actinic.

The temperature never goes above 81 degrees on the tank accept for one time when the fans failed and the thermal kicked and and killed the power to the lights so it one went up to 82.

Sly - I'll get some pictures up tomorrow but here is a link to the kit I used.

I have 150MH and 2x18w CF and my tank temperature stays consistently between 77-79 degrees.

I did install a small cooling fan in the rear and the hood has 2 internal cooling fans to exhaust the heat. The light is 1" from the surface.

Most of the heat problems on the RSM come from the huge, inefficient, useless skimmer they put in it. It is a massive beast of a skimmer that never in an entire year produced the amount of skimmate I have extracted using a Sapphire Aquatics BC29 with the ity bity RIO RJ600 pump in the past 2 months. Before removing the old skimmer pump I could never keep my temperature under 80 and was constantly sitting around 82 degrees or warmer.

It is a very nice tank aside from the skimmer.

-I just ordered the 130D today, one of the things that convinced me to get it was some excellent reviews of the skimmer that I read elsewhere.

I am curious, do you have the "D" or the original?

Thank you,

~C
