I just dropped a load of money on some great Tunze streams, and now I find out about a month later that they have newer and better stuff coming out. Take a look at the what's new catalog, especially the "Wavebox." I am attaching a link to the catalog, along with a video I foind on RC.

Jim,
The WaveBox looks like it move the water very well. The pulse funtion on the multi controller doesn't not work any more. Since it cost so much I wouldn't think it give up on me so soon.

Thats really cool :) But wouldent you need to drop your water level like that tank was to avoid throwing out water?

No Nick, it will get rid of the excess water for you, just don't look on the sides of your tank.

Her is a question, you got snails close to the top, or fish, will it toss them out?

hahaha...

If you look at the tank, you will notice that it is a topless tank that has no bracing. They filled thte water to within about 4 inches of the top of the tank, and the wavebox sloshes the water in the tank up above this level by about 3 inches. The wave motion in the tank is incredible.

ReeALot,
Sorry to hear about the problems with your controllers. I know mine are working fine, and I am getting great motion. Have you contacted the guy in Austin (I can't remember his name) about your controller? I am sure that they have a warrantee and they should replace them or repair them for you. Look into it anc give him a call.

Gotta have the Magnet holders. I dont like the brackets I have now at all.....

It would take a very special setup to make that wave maker viable long term, it is cool though. I guess an acrylic tank top bracing would make it work.

My concern would be with the sump..... With a water slosh of that "level", would the water receed below the level of the overflow teeth, starving the sump, and then "overthrow" the overflow teeth, drowning the sump?

I need that class in hydrodynamic theory now that I passed up in college... DURN my not looking forward!

The water get sucked into the box so you could actually run it w/o a sump.
