After some concerns with my lawnmower blenny's health, I decided to see if he would eat Nori. I put a small square in the tank yesterday and this morning it was all gone. My question is, how likely is it that he ate all of this? I was thinking that it maybe just deteriorated into the water. How long does Nori usually last in the water? How often should I be changing the pieces out?

No snails. The only inhabitants are three damsels and the blenny as of now. Oh and 2 crabs, but they cannot climb on the glass where the nori was located. Does anyone have a blenny that eats this stuff?

I forgot.... I do have snails, but they are super tiny, barely bigger than a coarse grain of sand.

My experience with nori is that it will soften quickly, and might break up under direct flow. However Ive never had it totally disentegrate overnight. Tiny snails wouldnt be able to make a huge dent in it either. There is a chance that the pieces floated down under your rockwork and were eaten by hermit crabs... but Id rather assume the blenny had a nice meal.
