Probably me... :cautious: I don't recall the fried the tank part but did shock the living daylights out of me.

I got yours mixed up with Hangman, his was ceramic that cracked and overheated his tank

I had an older heater get some salt water into it a week ago. Glass did not break... Talk about sparks flying... I am glad I was home at the time and was able to disconnect it. Only heaters I buy now are water resistant submersable .... play safe

Well the clam didn’t make it, all the sps are gone. Everything else looks to be doing ok. Not as devastating as I thought it would be, but should have not been a cheap butt and bought the titanium heaters.

Does anybody's tank ever get cold enough to turn the heater on? My chiller cycles on and off all winter. I have a heater in there. It's a titanium one so hopefully its more durable, but i have thought about taking it out as I don't think it has kicked on in 5 years. If its not in there, that is one less thing to go wrong.
I AGREE!!

Sorry to hear.

We keep the house at 67 in the winter and the heaters do come on. Mainly at night when the pumps are cut back and the lights are off. They do come on a few times during the day.
