Thanks everyone for participating!
The medium nudibranchs this time around are definitely a lot smaller than they have been previously.
The mediums we got could probably pass for smalls in most cases. I'm sure that's why they were more heavily discounted.

I hope they mow down your aiptasia.

I emailed Jeff at reeftown about the size discrepancy. He gave me a bunch of boilerplate answers on why they appear smaller than they actually are.
When I find one on the glass and hold a tape measure up to it, it's almost always below 1/2 inch.

Oh well, ill probably look for a different source next time.

They get much bigger and darker after a big meal Mike. Kinda like corals/anemones after a feeding. The one in your pic looks like it haven't eaten in 3-4 days.
The ones we got during the 1st group order were of a nice size though. Hope they take care of your aiptasia problem this time around and thanks again for all that you do for the community.

I've ordered nudis about 4-5 times already... these were by far the smallest I have seen. Even the darker ones don't come close to 1/2"
I imagine his medium stock was running low but he didnt want to lose the large order.

I had trouble getting them to leave the jar. Three days later 2 were still in it. Pulled them out with the baster a gently blew them on a rock. Then I noticed eggs in the jar so I am just leaving the jar for a while maybe I will get some lagniappe. That means extra for you non cajuns.

I put a quarter sized piece of rubble in their jar and used the pipette gizmo to blow them around till two landed on it. Then transferred it over to a rock that had aips.

They already took out one aip that I can see.

Unfortunately not very well for me. I put 14 tiny ones in my aiptasia breeder tank. At this point, aiptasia is disappearing only very very slowly and after reviving everything, i only see two nudibranchs alive in the tank now. Hopefully everyone else is having better luck

I put a small piece of rubble in the jar and blew them onto it. Once they were on the rock they stayed there even when lifted out of the water.
