The key to cheato is slightly higher nutrients to support it and iron to super charge it. Plus you need strong lighting if you want it to really take off.

What do U use to supply the iron?

So today was a hobby day... I called into work because the baaffle in my sump exploded. I was able to increase the height of the water, and after getting some plastic cut I found out that using weather stripping is a viable method to create modifiable baffles. In doing this I increased my total water volume by at least 10-15g and ... Drum roll

I BLEW. 300 on a Kessil.... I know ... I know there were better ways to go about it but it's just so freaking cool. Nitratres are 2 ppm today with phosphates at .08. let's see how this plays out!!

Hiya, this is what I ended up doing. I dont have any pictures that provide pictures before the install unfortunately. Though keep one thing in mind if you need to hold more than 1-2'' of water area it does tend to move so some type of stiffening will be needed. In my case I have about a 1'' delta and that im using between my skimmer and refugium. I'm using pieces of PVC to stabilize it.

baffles

I'd be curious to see a before and after over the no the of an ICP test from calcium reactors and no water changes. In theory, they should be ok, but I'd like to see the data. Ever done a triton, etc test?

I finally done an ICP

11 month no water change now.

Ca 453 ppm
Mg 1351 ppm
Sr 12 ppm
Fe 0.05 ppm
