Haas anyone had any experience with Ocean Direct Caribbean Sand. Will it always cloud the water if I disturbed?

Thank you! I was so worried. Upgrading from a 32 gallon biocube. When people came to help set up. We realized that we only had one bag of fuji pink sand. I went out and purchased the only sand that the nearest store had. It cleared in one day however, when I tried to even out the sand the next day it got cloudy. Today it is clear and I am afraid to touch the sand. I will get the 10micron felt filter socks. Where can I purchase them/

With each water change you do use a gravel vac and hit about 25% of the bed pulling all the silt up and out. press the vac head to the bottom of the bed and open the siphon up so you pull all the detrius out. The fine silt will come up and out along with it. You don't want to do the entire bed at once, just a part of it. Then wait a week and do the next section etc. After a month or so nearly all the fine silt will be gone, and you can dig in there with little concern of clouding the tank up.

Just buy them through a know vender like BRS, Premium Aquatics, Aquarium Specialty, etc. I got some socks on EBay one time and they literally fell apart. Amazon has them, but I’d read the reviews first! Trust me, they’ll catch all that silt. You can stir the bed and catch it several times while changing the socks out. After a few days most of the silt will be gone. This is coming from personal experience with a lot of fine sand.
