What's really cool is that it swam by then came back and just enjoyed the light it appears. Hung around for quite a while. Very neat. The story says it's a jellyfish and not all that rare except that it's intact. haha.

We get videos all the time of sea creatures swimming around and checking out our equipment down on the ocean floor. We had a baby whale in the Gulf that wouldn't leave our subsea stack and tree alone. He kept swimming around it checking it out then he would use it as a scratching post! He rammed the ROV a couple times when they came in to video him. He hung around for like a week before swimming off into the vast darkness.

Haha! Did he delay anything, or just get in the way?

No he didn't hold up anything. Equipment was already installed. The ROV was just down for routine checks because the equipment was a new install. The whale seemed like he didn't want the ROV around his new toy he found. LOL

Here's another guy that let his curiosity get the best of him. We had a failure on some equipment. When the rig pulled our control system to the surface to see what was going on this is what they found!

You can clearly see the problem. The red hose is connected where the blue hose is supposedto be!!
