ok, I'm not going anywhere I don't have to right now, but I am anxious to add a fish to my poorly stocked tank. I prefer the LFS over mail order. There are 2 wrasses next on my ideal livestock list - an orange backed fairy wrasse and either a McCosker's or a Carpenter flasher. Any input on where in the area I might most likely be able to get one of these? It's likely I will have to actually pre-order one since I don't see them much in stock, but I thought I'd ask around first. Maybe someplace routinely gets them in and I just haven't been there at the right time.
I'm in League City - I prefer to stay south of I-10.

You can always ask a LFS to order it for you and pickup there. I don't recall ever seeing the two you mentioned in a LFS before.

Bought my clowns at fjw. Never been to fishfanatics.
I saw an orange backed fairy st fish gallery when my tank was still breaking in. I thought it was too soon.

thanks. never been there either. I know its not likely that I could run to a shop based on a forum observation and find a fish still there, but I have come to recognize that shops seem to build a repertoire, if you will. Shop A never carries FishX, so shop A has trouble ordering FishX. Shop B carries FishX from time to time, and can get the supplier to send another. Seems to work like that for other hobby-type items as well. I was buying something for my son once - shop near me said they had a 6 month wait. I happened into another shop a few weeks later on the other end of town, they had plenty in stock and said they get more every month. Score!
