I brought a young Fox Face Rabbit fish from a LFS store over a week ago. After I had it for a couple of days I noticed that the eyes looked opaque when the mid day lights were on. When I shine a flash light on the fish the eyes look normal. The fish is eating and swimming good. I read on a couple of websites that opaque lens can be caused by a poor diet. Does anyone have additional information that?

Before you ask, I did not put the fish into a quarantine tank, and yes I know that I should have.

Thank You

Try some searches for "cloudy eye" and "pop eye". There are a large variety of causes.

This is normal for rabbit-fish. I have an orange spotted rabbit-fish. They have a layer of skin that can change color like the rest of their bodies over their eyes. It's very cool.
