I can't decide whether to get XR30W pro G3 or non-pro G4. Any opinions appreciated.

3 will be hanging over a 72x24x25 SPS tank

Thanks,
Josh

I'm shocked you're only keeping three of those over an sps tank. Are your sps clustered under the lights?

Right now I have no SPS lol. Tank isn't in yet. I have a non-pro G3 Radion over a 50 cube that's 24x24x20 and its plenty running now at 55%

If spread/coverage isn't a concern, I'd go with the G3 Pro's. You get 2 more blue LED's, and Indigo LED's compared to the non-pro G4 which should give better coral coloration.

Spread is the biggest enemy of LEDs. Those units pack a lot of punch, so even if you tone down part of the spectrum to get the visual appeal that you like, you should still get the PAR under the fixture that you're looking for. However, like I said, spread is the enemy, even with the newest radion fixtures. Make sure you're covering your sps as best as possible from all angles.

I could always add another later easily on the Ecotech rms rail. Thanks for your inputs.

Of course. T5s make a nice complement for spread too. Treating the fixtures like halides and supplementing on the sides with T5s definitely wouldn't hurt.
