I'm in the process of painting the stand and getting ready to set up the 90 gallon i recently purchased from xaflatoonx (thanks again!). The tank has a large corner overflow. My previous tank has a shallow overflow across the top of the side of the tank. I plan to install a durso and I'm concerned about the water at the bottom of the overflow chamber being anaerobic. Do I need a powerhead in there or will the short drop from the weir to the intake of the durso be enough to stir things up at the bottom?

There will be some settlement of detritus at the bottom of the overflow over time. A power head would work, although I periodically just siphon it out when I am doing a water change.

I wouldnt worry about it. Just clean when there is too much buildup like jsquare mentioned. Even with a powerhead. There will be settlement

exactly what I do. Just stick the standpipe in the bulkhead and don't glue in place. Once a year pull it out and let the water in the overflow drain out. Clean and you are good. Just make sure to put some fresh filter sock in first to catch all the gunk that will flow out. I haven't cleaned my overflow out in over two years LOL.
