I want to install my sump and need advice. Which is better?
1- 2 overflow boxes?
2- Drill the back of the tank on either side? Drilling the bottom is not a good option at this point.

The tank is an acrylic 125 gallon.
Any advice is appreciated!

I've run my tank with an overflow box for the past year or so...and am in the process of setting up my new tank drilled for overflow and return.

The overflow box was noisy and splashy. I'm hoping to eliminate that with the drilled tank.

The overflow box was also unsightly IMO. My new tank RR tank will look so much cleaner. I can't wait until it's done!

I would drill the tank if it's possible. Acrylic is safer to drill than glass, and it's a stronger selling point if you ever decide to sell/trade the tank.

Did you ever consider installing an internal Calfo-style overflow? I've never seen one in person, but there was a thread around here a couple months ago that discussed it somewhat. I would at least consider it if I were to start up another tank. Good luck!
