This one just seemed interesting. I've seen 2 lghts (red and blue) and 3 (red, blue and white) lights but not 5. Deep red, red, orange, blue and IR ( whatever IR is). I try it for a couple of weeks and see what it can do.

Well FedEx "F'ed up". They claim to have delivered it but.......no light on my door step. I'll have to track it down on Monday.

That's a nice light. Youth has a uv lights? I wonder if there's any benefit like a uv sterilizer.

Well the light finally came in. Let the growing begin.

I'll post par readings next week after I get the meter from Clownfish Chris.

Mario,

Are you using a powerhead in the the chamber to rotate or turn your chaeto?
As for now the return pipe is keeping it tumbling a lit. If I need more in the future I will.

Well it's been a week and there's growth. I like this light.

Here is the greatest combo you can get ;-)

Not be the safest one but very effective.

Home depot large clamp AL reflector $10
Walmart or Home Depot Phillips 25W 6500K FLuorescent bulb $20-30

I had a 5000k running a while back but I wanted to experiment with a grow light. So far very happy.

Do you have a link to the bulb you are referring to?

I'm fixing to go back to a coral compulsion bulb to light my fuge. The yellow HPS light I have now works great, but it's bulky, hot, and the yellow light is starting to annoy me.

My tank runs with 0 ppm NO3 and about 0.02 ppm PO4. I dose nitrate to keep it between 2.5 and 5 ppm and feed very heavily.

Did you have an algae problem before? Was this done for nutrient consumption?

No this is a fairly new tank so I am trying to keep everything in check from the start!! We spend good money to buy all top notch equipment for our reefs but most will go cheap on a fuge light (I am guilty of this myself). I did a lot of research and figured why not spend some money on a good light to get the most out of my macro... after all it is another "filter" in the system!
