Well... I have had 2 of my Peppermint Shrimp sporting eggs for the past couple of weeks. I've been watching them (whenever they come out of hiding) as the eggs make the usual color change and noticed a couple of days ago that they were beginning to brown.
Now my expectation was not one of success considering my tank is still rather new in terms of set-up.
This morning I went to feed the fish and turned on the lights. All was good in the tank for about 5 minutes, but then a mass of wriggling things emerged from the Live Rock... 8O
I breed freshwater shrimp as it is so it didn't take long to identify them as shrimp larvae, and with peppermints being the only shrimp in the tank...
So, has anyone had any success actually raising these shrimp?
Suggestions?

i've had babies, but none went on to survive. get sucked up in the protein skimmer and overflow. i'd suggest siphoning them out and placing them in their own tank to raise, if you can.

I tried my hand at raising peps and cleaners, even one or two hatches of blood shrimp. I actually got the blood shrimp the farthest, 12 days old.

They're tough, and I can raise a lot of things, lol

Well, I went through the trouble of siphoning them out and then realized that I really needed to have a seperate tank already set up before they hatched if I wanted to try and raise them. So I ust put them all back in the tank and it was a gourmet feast for my foxface and tomato clown :).
Three of my shrimp are carrying eggs again, so maybe I'll get adventurous and try my hand at it, but not just yet.

what you can do is set up a small tank, maybe 10 gallons or less with some live sand and rock. lure the pregnant shrimp out into a net or your hand with some freeze-dried krill or other solid meaty food. put them in the 10 gallon and let them go to town. oh, and use water from the main tank that way the eggs and parents don't go into shock. they are very sensitive.

Yeah, i know what needs to be done set up a little breeder tank, I'm just not sure I want to go through the hassle. That is going on the list of fun little endeavors for the future.
