does regular household bleach work to clean out tanks to raise plankton in? Florida aquafarms said it takes 2.5 ml per liter to kill all bacteria in a tank, and the clorine will break down in about 24 hours. However, I let two tanks sit for 48 hours with an air hose going, and I added a cap full of dt's, but nothing seems to be growing in the tanks...

any ideas?

how old was the phyto you put in?

also, what are you feeding the phyto?

are you using any type of recommended fertilizer?
