I know it's not the same without pictures, but I still wanted to take a second to describe this. I noticed yesterday that my Pipe Organ was slowly closing as the day went on. Nothing else seemed to be acting strange, so I didn't pay much attention. In fact, I assumed that since I had just replaced the bottle on the calcium reactor, it was just getting used to the calcium level going back up. By the end of the day, it was almost fully closed (still nothing else was doing anything abnormal SPS, LPS, and softies) so I started to get curious. Turns out, too much CO2 was going into the reactor which caused the pH in the tank to drop from 8.25 to 7.58 over the course of the day. Got the reactor straightened out, and the pH recovered by this morning. I'm guessing all will be back to normal by this afternoon.

It's funny, our corals are like our kids. We get so used to what is normal, it's easy to tell when something is out of whack, just by watching their behaviour. The hard part is figuring exactly what the change is. This one was easy, obviously, most of the time it's much more complicated.

Yup, I can always tell when it is time to change the GFO. There are certain corals that start getting po'd at the slightest elevation in PO4. I check it and sure enough, it is up. Keeps me from having to test so often.
