Piscine Energetics “Save Your Aquarium”

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Moody Gardens was closed from March 18 – May 23, a total of 66 days! During this time volunteer and summer youth programs were halted at Moody Gardens, and sadly, many facilities has had to, at the very least' let go of a number of people and the remaining staff have had to compensate by working unusual days and hours that really have put a strain on the staff. Seeing the need, Piscine Energetics (PE) has started a fundraiser “Save Your Aquarium”, you buy a bucket and they give a bucket, it’s that easy.

“Seeing how the professional aquarium community has rallied to collectively pull ourselves through these uncertain times makes me proud…Piscine Energetics stepped up and provided a platform for aquarists worldwide to continue our knowledge transfer of animal care and welfare…I’m thankful for the opportunity to strengthen the public aquarium network.” – Greg Whittaker, Animal Husbandry Manager

Help support your favorite zoos and aquariums by providing nutritious and sustainable feed for both their tanks and yours through the purchase (and matching donation) of a 5lb bucket of PE Mysis . Your generosity will help to offset the cost of the exceptional support and care for these animals during this difficult time. There are 3 ways you can help to support Moody Gardens Aquarium (or other favorite institution):

1 - Keep a bucket for yourself and give the other to the institution.

2 - Give both buckets to the institution of your choice, or

3 - Give a nominal amount to support the institution

I just looked it up, and according to wikipedia, it's owned by the city of Galveston via the Moody Foundation, which is a non-profit.

Yes! Another interesting thing about MG is it's participation in "Hope Therapy" which was inspired by the son of trustee, Mr. Moody, after he sustained a head injury. It utilizes the healing benefits of therapy through animals and nature. We learned a little about it during orientation, but it is an amazing program benefitting both mentally and physically disabled persons through Hippotherapy. They host Hope events throughout the year. Its also non-profit.
