macro

+1 on da macro. I'll second the comment about if wanting to keep it local, go to Houston Camera Exchange. I have a T1i, and went down there shopping a couple weeks ago, after doing some on-line research. They have 4 different in-stock options for what I was looking for. 1k for the "hybrid" 100mm Cannon, 6 bills for the old school Cannon 100mm, Tammaron and 1 other 100mm for less than 5 c-notes. I chose the old school, non-hybrid Cannon 100mm f2.8 (couldn't see spending the additional, for what I feel, were minor benefits). Only reason I chose it was when zooming in, the lens does not extend forward, its all internal for getting close to subject (tank glass). Only other comment to add, consider a tri-pod too.

Cheers

D

I got one of my presents early to take with us on our disney trip so I can get better night shots but I discovered something amazing... this new lens takes some awesome tank pictures even with just the actinic's ...

The new toy Sigma - 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM

I first bought it because I needed a good portrait lens but this lens can do so much more.

All of these pictures are unedited (accept for size) fstop 1.4 makes a huge difference. BTW the lens weighs a tone and is huge. :D
No flash or supplemental lighting.
