When I checked on my tank yesterday morning, one of my acans was knocked over again (damn snails). Anyway, I had glued it before, but apparently, not well enough. So this time I got after it. Most glue I've ever used. Found a good crack in the rock where the glue would be able to get hold. All looked well. I went back a few minutes later to find my purple tang pulling excess glue out from under the coral. I guess I can see where the white glue looks pretty much like cut up silversides, but really? I freaked out:scared:. I know I can tell when I get superglue (corafix actually) on my fingers, it works as advertised. I thought for sure I was going to have to explain how I just let a $200 fish glue his mouth shut. Anyone else ever run into this, if so what do you do?

I thought you were going to say you glued yourself to your rock. ;)

One of my clowns attacked the glue on the bottom of a frag once when putting it into the tank, I wasn't sure what to do for my clown. No effect on the fish luckily.

There used to be a tomentosus filefish in the awesome SPS display at T&T. Apparently it had been nipping SPS polyps (bad fish!) and the store wanted to remove it but couldn't catch it. One day it nipped a freshly-glued frag and did in fact glue its mouth shut. You could see this hard plug of glue sticking out of its mouth. I assume it has since starved to death...

LOL I hear ya "Stupid Snails..."... I'm going to invent some type of sticky tack that works underwater that is stronger and gravity but will keep snails from bulldozing frags but still allow you to move the frag around to find that perfect spot... or maybe underwater frag velcro with a water activated adhesive... hmm..

i agree with jason.. a tiny bit of epoxy does wonders. i put the tiny bit of glue on a tiny bit of epoxy, push that against the frag, then put glue on the bottom of the epoxy, then push it in to the tank. no exposed super glue anywhere, and guarantees that all of the super glue is touching something.
