I'm finally giving up on my old Koralia b/c it turns backwards every couple of hours now. I've got a 5' 110g. There is an EcoTech MP40 on one side and a Mag9 returning water from the sump. I'd like something else on the other side. I don't want to spend $300 to get another EcoTech. Any suggestions on long lasting powerheads that have a wide stream? It does not need to be super powerful becuase I have the MP40 which moves pretty good water.

b/t/w, Its been a while since I've been around the board. I'm hoping to get back invovled for those that remember me.

Dont get a tunzee as the once great pump are trash now. Bought 5 of them and 4 quit the first yr.

David, you dont count because not all of us have (2) super-duper oversized tanks sitting on granite pillars, probably flown in from italy somwhere.

i am thinking of maybe switching mine. might be looking into the Ecotech and doing one as master and the other as servant.....still on the post. the parts to repair them are still holding me back though....i hate this hobby!!!!!!

Wow that's what I was going to recommend, the fixed speed ones due to cost... Don't they have a five year warranty? Also where they the controllable ones or the fixed?

My Koralia Evo 1400 started running backwards as well. I contacted Hydor and they sent a well laid out email with pictures of the three causes. I was missing the bumper on the front cover and they sent me two new covers for free. Was very happy with their support.
You may still want to upgrade, but check with them in the meantime and you can get yours fixed so it isn't a rush.
