So I am in the middle of my 60 gallon cube build and I have gotten to the point where I need to decide which controller to get.

This will not be my final tank build so I really don't wanna go all out too much because i will hopefully be purchasing a house soon and will do a larger build with all the goodies then.

What I need out of a controller for this tank is............

Parameter monitoring for temp and ph
Control two dosing pumps for two part
I want to be able to shut down all pumps and entire system if need be.

I am obviously looking between reef keeper and apex. As I look I think I can get by with a RK LITE or apex jr. The only thing I don't like about the apex is it seems like it does too much and is very complicated to figure out. I just need something simple. Just wanting to get opinions from people who use these controllers.

The Apex controller is one of the best purchases I made. It does sound complicated to setup and configure, but believe me it was far easier than it sounds. Not to mention there is a lot of information and good examples to configure anything you want to do.

I have an RKE and if I wasn't already locked into their system I would probably get an apex. You might think you won't ever use the other functions, but if upgrading later it's best to get everything you need now and you won't have to buy again. That being said, the RKE does do all of the above and everything I need- just would prefer some of the flexibility of the apex.

I had the RKL and wasn't a big fan.
Now I have the GHL Profilux and it's AWESOME.
I don't think there is a more reliable, better built/engineered controller on the market.

Have been really happy with my Apex on my 180 to do all tasks mentioned and monitoring remotely.
Really robust implementation I think and the programming is not that hard at all
