Anyone ever tried applying Rain-X to the OUTSIDE of the aquaraum? So you dont end up with water spots after messing with your tank and spilling alittle water down the front? Or to keep fingerprints adn dust off?

Anyone see any problems with doing this? Other than dont squirt it in the tank...

Another potential problem would be putting hands in the aquarium after touching the glass. However, I would think that it would not add much due to dilution.

What about carnuba wax? I wonder if that would be more eco-friendly in case it were introduced into the tank.

I've been thinking about this as a means of keeping the center brace clean, but it would have to be applied to the side facing the water, so I've been scared to try it.

It's high-end wax used on cars (not cheap turle-wax stuff). You would think it would leave a glaze, but I've heard of people using it on glass shower stalls so you don't have to squeegee, so it must dry pretty clear.

Anyway, it's just a thought - I've never tried it, so no warranties are expressed or implied.

u should get some of it so you can see whats in it or if its toxic to eat..

Im sure it would work on top of the brace... ied like to try that becuase mine is always so salt encrusted and spotted.. hehe Im not sure about putting it on bottom... my snails love to get upside down and hang on the bottom of the brace (and its not even in the water)
