We tend to think of them as kind of ugly, but Stomatella shells are quite pretty. The one on the bottom is black on the outside, and they are more colorful on the inside then the ones that are tan on the outside. Unfortunately, I have seen quite a few shells on the bottom lately, so I'm afraid one of my fish may have decided that they're delicious.

This mushroom doesn't fool around when it comes to cloning itself - I've never seen "triplets" before.

Found this ribbon of Berghia eggs in my filter sock last weekend, and kept them in a separate container. Finally got around to putting them under the stereo microscope tonight, and they look like they might be about to hatch. You can clearly see the eyes, and some of them are constantly whirling around.

I'm getting close to finally fully irradicating that from my display tank. It just keeps popping up and I don't know how....haha

Yep, it is amazingly hardy and fragile at the same time, and bits are constantly getting broken off and growing somewhere else. There are days I think about getting rid of it, but it's nice having something that always grows well. The colony overall is not nearly as pretty as it used to be, because so much of the lower part has died due to shading from the top. I also have to keep trimming it away from the birds nest.

Next time I'm at your house, I'll be sure to drop a few pieces in random areas of your tank.

Time to trim it back and replant it then. Once everything grows to the top, you really don't get to see it anymore.
