We tend to think of them as kind of ugly, but Stomatella shells are quite pretty. The one on the bottom is black on the outside, and they are more colorful on the inside then the ones that are tan on the outside. Unfortunately, I have seen quite a few shells on the bottom lately, so I'm afraid one of my fish may have decided that they're delicious.

Found this ribbon of Berghia eggs in my filter sock last weekend, and kept them in a separate container. Finally got around to putting them under the stereo microscope tonight, and they look like they might be about to hatch. You can clearly see the eyes, and some of them are constantly whirling around.
