Rick is correct and what a pain it is lol...chemi clean is your only solution now. I’ve learned you must dip/quarantine most everything! Good luck!

I’ve noticed it’s more of a water source that spikes cyano growth with low flow areas. Where are you getting your RO water?

always monitor Po4. it should run around .003 ppm. idk about everyone else, but I nuked it with Chemiclean and that was that. people have reported mixed results with regards to the effect on tank inhabitants but I was alright.

Is the red stuff fuzzy or slimy?
While I agree that you should address anything that's actually ON the corals and irritating them, what I see in your pics is not too bad... how old is your system? My tank has gone through various algae stages (going through one right now b/c one of my hydra mounts broke and I replaced it temporarily with an old t5 fixture), but except for bryopsis, I've never added chemicals or taken any drastic, quick-fix measures. Lighting, flow, impurities in the water, and lots of other things can affect the balance in the tank. As long as it's still minor, use this as an opportunity to get to know your tank better... remove what you can manually and adjust a few things to see what works. Then next time, you'll know what to do :)

It is slimy, It is only on 2 of my corals luckily at this time.
I have 2 550gph wave makers in my 40gal tank now to get the maximum amount of water movement at possible.

Tank is 4 months old now, rock is 5 months since cured

Can you direct your powerheads to the affected area? that always worked for me, clears red slime almost immediately. It is more tricky in difficult to access cornes, but you seem to have it out in the open. GL.

BTW, what is "KH"?

Carbonate hardness. Measured in dKH or ppm.
