I've been battling cyano algae for about a month now, and I can't seem to get rid of it. Every time I try to syphon it it seems to spread all over. My parameters are up to par ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates, are zero, ph is 8.4, and salinity 1.025, and my lights are on for about six hours a day....... If anyone has any ideas please let me know, I want it gone.....

+1 on above, try also to increase water movement and WC will reduce it.

Hi, Alex.
I'm convinced that cyano outbreaks are an indication that the tank has excess nutrients, particularly in the sand bed. If you're not adding some sort of bacterial supplement, like Brightwell's Microbacter or the Prodibio BioDigest, you might consider that. I've never used Red Slime Remover, but I've had good luck with Boyd's Chemi-Clean on 3 different occasions.

good luck,
Steve
