This is my third year. Speakers were great. Vendor Hall was wonderful. Met some Houston vendors that were new to me and saw some that have become old friends. Bought some corals (as usual probably more than I should have). I won a few things at the raffle (probably more than my share) I guess it was just my day.

On top of having fun I was also on a mission. Member Gregghamil had a Blackbanded Bamboo Shark that had outgrown his system. I take care of a system for Sabine Pass ISD and we have been sharkless for 2 yrs now. It is a 8ft 360 gallon so plenty of room. After the show we made the trek to his place and get the shark. He has a beautiful custom acrylic tank but I didn't realize how deep this tank was and on a high stand. We could see the sharks tail sticking out of his cave (and I'm thinking "How are we going to do this") He said watch this. He tapped the tank and said "Hi buddy I'm home" and out he came. A silverside dangled from fingers at the top of the tank and one (well maybe two) swift strokes of the net and into the ice chest he went.

Very nice! This was my first time going and I had a blast. Well not counting that I put all of my raffle tickets into 2 boxes and didn't win but that's what you get lol!

Well.......... what can I say.
Taking the speakers for Friday night on a VIP tour to the Diesel tank and some awesome food after wards and today on a VIP tank tour to Houston surprise visit at Oceanlife (thank you Nicky) but we ran out of time to visit FJW as Tony Vargas flight back was at 2pm.

Other tank was a large fish only but with all the reflex in the room I couldn't get a sharp shot.

All went well with the transfer except for a little splashed water in the trunk of the Altima. Note to self Get the truck back into shape.

Will definately talk to Ben soon to get more insight about the Triton (full vs. light) and pick my stuff up from him.

But at least many of "my" Corals, are now in your guys tank, lol ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Thanks for the pics... so glad to see she made it to her new home safely! keep us posted! would love to see the kids reaction when they first see it. And thanks for such a wonderful selection of corals! you really made my tank pop! If your tank ever gets too crowded and you need to get rid of more be sure to holler and ill make a run out there!

Thanks everyone that attended Reef Currents 2016! We had another great show. Our speakers and vendors were awesome! I think I came home with 12 SPS frags, an acan that is unbelievable in color (Thanks Brandon at Zoanthids.com!) and an awesome tube anemone.

Sunday Ben and I had the privilege of showing the speakers around town for the day. D2mini manned the camera and we were off! I think I got 6 hours sleep the entire weekend but it was worth it. I cannot wait for next year and Reef Currents 2017!!!!
