I was wondering if Reef Currents has an area setup for hobbiest to sell frags. I know C4 in Austin does but not sure if Reef Currents does the same or if its a vendors-only type of event.

Sorry but it's a vendor only type of event. I would like to start having a smaller frag swap here in Houston though.

We held a frag swap in the Autumn and it was open to any seller. I hope we can do that again. Keep checking the forum. (I can't guarantee the BOD will remember to PM you.)

We have a lot of marsh members in the Houston area but also a lot of hobbyist that aren't affiliated with marsh but are active on social media that grow out a lot of interesting corals.
I wanted to plan to get something together that will bring both parties in a venue or something and have a large frag swap/sale event that returns every year.
This will be only for hobbyist and no equipment swaps/trades/sales just only corals.

Thank you guys for the quick responses. I'll keep my eyes out for some potential hobbyists swaps in the near future!

Would be cool to have something separate, Diesels right, there are a lot of people who are on FB with coral but I just cant find the time to meet them or participate in auctions. Would be nice to just have a "tent sale" where everyone can come together.

Just meet them at the event and make the exchange. There's no rule against that and you don't need a table. Just find a shady spot, look like you're up to no good, and make sure a cop is watching. You can give him a good story to tell down at the station.

You guys should set up a moving weekly coral farmers market.
Does anyone have chickens? I need a couple dozen eggs every week, too. Eggs and frags... the best saturday morning ever. :biggrin1:

I have some egg frags if you're interested. They were left over after breakfast this morning. They're pretty LE so theyre not gonna come cheap. I can dig them out of the trash if you're interested.

We had a good laugh one day when I met a guy in an H.E.B parking lot to buy some cheato. He handed me a bag full of green plant matter and I handed him some cash. Luckily there were no cops around and if there were, the bag was full of water!!
