Yea but stuff like that is years our Les errrr :(

$5 a gal would suck. Just when my tank is really taking off.

Worst case i could downsize to the 58 gal and keep my fav corals and downsize to 1 MH light that would cut costs. My tank is already pretty effecent i took my tank from 5 pumps down to 1 pump that runs everything along with a few powerheads so thats nice.

The europeans seem to cope, and have been for a while

We'll see a lot less hummers and trucks though.

IMO, the price of gas is artificially LOW, when you consider how much our government spends in foreign policy decisions aimed at energy.

Europeans deal with it because they take public transportation to work and/or live and work close... I like most people live 30 mins or so away from where I work so the commute is more and no decent public transportion alternative.

*grits his teeth*

I'm not trying to start a political feud here, but...

The problem is that environmental groups and democrats decided several years ago that MTBE was bad and that ethanol was the answer to our prayers. No one listened to us in the refining industry that said, "Umm... Guys, there's not enough ethanol to do what you want to do." So, some guy decides to write a news story yesterday relating the epiphany that the energy industry has known for years about the lack of ethanol to replace MTBE. Now, the market is panicking, and gas went up 20 cents in the last 24 hours.

Moral of the Story: A person is an intelligent, reasonable creature. People are stupid, panicky animals.

.....some persons may have to be renamed 'people' then, because not all individuals are intelligent, reasonable creatures, that's for sure...(I can think of a few immediately off the top of my head, but I don't want to start a political feud either) ....non-politically, my mom would qualify as a mob ;)

....but I know what you meant, mdavis....

we are all getting screwed by this artificial shortage. It seems to me if GM and Ford want to get their stocks outta the crap house they will make more fuel efficient cars and trucks. The technology is there they just have to tap it.
