10 times exchange or around 300 GPH would be good for a basic setup.

i think 10x turn over is plenty for any set up. if you go higher than that you can start having noise issues because you are moving too much water. also, we all know that most of the flow / current should be coming from powerheads or closed loop in the actual tank. not from the return. so there we want about 20-30x turnover
