Ok, are rics light hungry? I got a MH, so where should I put them?

City Pets has a lot of them in, tri-color, blue, green. Had about 20+ of them ranging from 10 to 35 dollars.

Nathan,
Start them out low very low under the stand. JK.
Start them out on the sand bed.

There's a lot of variation. I have one colony that never thrived until I moved it to the top 1/3 of the tank. I have another one that I've had for a year, and every time I try to move it higher in the tank it shrinks up, so I just leave it on the sand bed and it keeps growing.

So, Kevin, if left under the stand, how often should I change the air in the bag?

generally speaking, they require a little more light than mushrooms. you might not have to put them down on the sand if you'd rather have them on rockwork. try moving them to the side of the MH and see if it responds well to a little less intensity as opposed to being directly underneath the lamp..

Mine like it right in the middle of my 24" tall tank.

They've even morphed into a rare color, peach.

Nathan,
Don't need to change the air bag. :D

Some Ricordias produce better color with higher light but they must be acclimate slow for it or it will bleach on you.

Yeah, Andy's ricordea have very nice color.

My Ric seem to open up bigger and look better when not directly under my MH and one I even put half under a ledge and it looked great.
