So, my second oldest fish is (was) a royal gramma that I got in 2015. It was probably 2 inches when I bought it. Quite a few people who bought coral from me in the last year or so commented on how big it was, about 5 inches long...I didn't really keep track of how big it was supposed to be, lol.

Recently, it started to get "dusky" patches which I know happens when they get older - the equivalent of going grey maybe.

He was hiding more the past two weeks so I figured he was on his way out and this morning I noticed something strange with my RBTA - lo and behold, it was the tail end of the gramma sticking out of the nem's face! I freaked for a second and then snatched it out of the tank without getting a photo.

Here are a couple pics of him in better days.

Yes sorry to hear about your fish's passing. I thought I lost Mr Yellow Tang last week but he managed to get into my filter/protein skimmer.

Sorry for your loss. That's cool that it grew so big. I have had mine since 2010 or so, and it still looks good, but it hasn't grown much at all in that time, despite starting in a 90-gallon and being in a 150-gallon tank the last 6 years.
