Dont automaticly assume that your heater is toast cus it is old and doesn't work any more... Even if it totaly looks like toast cus guess what. It could just be the plug that is coroded to the point that it just doesnt conduct without a cleaning. I almost learned that lesson the hard way but god saved me again. I put in the wrong plug and plugged in a heater that had its seal violated with salt water years ago. It was laying on flamable material outside the tank for 3 days. Geesh eh...

When in doubt, I just replace the heater. There are too many things that can go wrong when it comes to them, and you can never have enough backup plans.

Yup..I learned my lesson... Dont take heaters lightly. If they are not 100 percent operational throw them out. There was some melted plastic and a bit of charred wood. I think the heater was damaged a bit or would of burnt hotter. Thank you Lord.
