I know its a silly question ,but I am trying to figure out the best salt level for my tank. I as of now have a few lps like zoas, candycane, frogspawn, and mushrooms. I also have a couple of fish. What is a good starting point for my salt level. Right now it is @ 1.0193. Any input will help

I run my sps tank between 1.024 and 1.026. I personally would never go below 1.021 for a fowlr or 1.024 for a reef. Jmo

+1 for a point of reference, natural salt water is 1.026 and the standard for corals. You can raise it slowly by simply changing your top off RODI water for saltwater until you get to 1.026.

And do change it slowly over several days. Fish can handle larger drops in salinity better than increases. I did a hyposalinity treatment on my fish last year and the info I used said to limit the increases to about .002 per day, taking 8 days to raise it up from 1.010 to 1.026. So I would take at least 3-4 days to raise yours up to 1.025 or so. The top off with salt water is a simple way, but depending on your evaporation and tank volume it may take a week or two.
