I have noticed my sand bed has gotten a little lower "gravel cleaner"and wanted to know if it would hurt the life of the sand bed if i half another 1/2inch to it with fresh sand? Tank has been running for 2 years.

DO it in small increments and you should be fine. Do a few cups at a time over the course of a few weeks maybe...
