i bought this trigger a little over a month ago, its about 5-6 inches long and was fat and healthy when i got it. I have not seen him eat anything since ive had it. it is getting really skinny and just doesnt look very healthy anymore. it stays hidden most of the time in the rock work, but when I do see it come out it swims around just fine and no sign of any parasites, just looks skinny. I feed all other live stock in tank spectrum pellets on a regular basis. i have tried brine, mysis, krill, silversides, scallops, i even put a live molly in today just to see if live food would entice him to eat. i was reading that they eat urchins and crabs in the wild, but havent tried that yet. has anybody experienced this, and if so what would you suggest i do. thanks in advance for any help.

triggers like butterflys and angels will usually respond to clams. Take a small live clam from the store and pry it open, rinse and drop it in. Live blackworms are supposed to be good, but hard to come by.

By the way, they can have parasites that aren't apparent. Highly recommend a prazipro treatment. Would try some clams first though as prazi can suppress appetite.

second on the clams, They are 90% effective on keeping finicky fish alive until they figure out what were throwing in the tank. You have to remember
they dont see the same food in the ocean we throw in our tanks I buy half a lb at a time in any grocery store fresh seafood section. The plain black
mussel/clam will live in your fridge for a week in a bowl with no water. Been feeding my blueline and scribble angel with clams for 2 weeks now. Blue line
has started eating brine but scribble still just chowing down on clams.

ok thanks. i was thinking about getting clams. should i just throw them in there and hope he comes out of hiding, or is there a more efficient way of doing it because my other fish are prolly gonna eat them all up before he gets a chance to eat

Break them up throw in 3 to start with different spots in the tank. If that doesnt give him opportunity do more. Just suspend using other foods for a few days to
lower bio load. No fish will starve while doing this, Since its been a while since he has eaten would do quickly
