I tried contacting sbreef about this but they won’t respond which is a little disheartening. I purchased a used 60” sbreef actinic bar. It’s less than one year old (I know because I bought it from a buddy and I remember when he ordered it).

The shield has dark black burn spots and cracks over all the 420 diodes. Anyone experience this?

Can I remove the acrylic shield or maybe dremmel cut holes out over the violet diodes so the light actually makes it to the tank. As of now the light is almost blocked entirely.

yep seen it a bunch on the chinese black box LED's. I think really all you can do is replace the entire LED. I have not seen the 120° lenses that cover the chip for sale.

Hey Steve, he's talking about the acrylic splash protection guard that covers the diodes and the lenses.

When he mentioned it, I went to look at my light and noticed it very lightly on my splash guard as well. That light is about 6-8 months old now.
